Mrs. Sarah Kim Vennard was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in upstate New York. She began dancing at the Isabelle School of Dance at a very young age and continued her studies by attending conventions and master classes with the NYS Dance Alliance. Ballet was her focus at the Albany Dance Institute under David Otto. Sarah Kim studied at the New York State Summer School of the Arts for Modern Dance under various masters such as Carolyn Adams, Ruth Andrien, and Danny Grossman and performed works by David Parsons, Lila York, and Paul Taylor. She continued her study of modern dance at the University of the Arts and has taught at several of the schools at which she was educated. Her stage experience includes performances with the Berskshire Ballet, RPI Dance Ensemble, EBA Dance Company, and the Penn Dance Company. She has also appeared in such musicals as A Chorus Line, Sweet Charity, Cinderella, and Where’s Julie as well as several independent film projects. She enjoys sharing her love of dance with aspiring performers and hopes to bring strength of technique and inspiration to the dancers of Stage Lights.
